A Blended Approach to Transforming LearningThe widespread availability of Internet access and collaborative communication technologies such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are transforming the global society we live in today, so there is reason to believe that such technologies and the affordances they provide will be the defining transformative innovation for education (Garrison & Kanuka, 2004). A characteristic of the Blending Learning transformation is the ability for learners to be both together in a classroom environment and apart from each other when learning. As school districts begin to blend the traditional face to-face classroom with an instructional pedagogy of delivering instruction online for anywhere and anytime learning, school districts must recognize how to guide their campuses toward a successful adoption and implementation of the Blended Learning (BL) concept (Graham, Woodfield, & Harrison, 2013).
